It is important to have basic knowledge of web design for instructional technology leaders in the K - 12 environment because the more we know as teachers the more we can pass on to our students. We may not teach students how to create web sites (& I definitely won't be teaching my kindergarteners how to create a web site from scratch) but we can use the ones that we create to help facilitate learning in our classrooms. Also as technology leaders we can use what w have learned to help co-workers with any problems that they might be experiencing.
