This week we have been talking a lot about test scores and what we do with them at our school. This is a difficult thing for the Kindergarten team to give a lot of input on because we don't test our students the way that other grades do. Generally, at the kindergarten level, we are preparing the students for future learning & so they will be successful on test in upper grades. We do test them at the end of the year to help with first grade placement. However they are so young that we don't really use the information for the tests too much, we usually use the informal tests that we do with our students.

Your role as an educational leader

Since I am a fairly new teacher I do not see myself as one of the main educational leaders in my school. When given the opportunity to help out or lead, I am willing to. With regard to leading other teachers with technology, I have helped others out with a few minor things. There are many other people in my school that have a lot of technology knowledge so this does not happen very often. I am sure that as I continue my career I will assume many different leadership roles and hope that information and skills that I have/will learn in these classes will help me to be successful.
