This week we have been talking a lot about test scores and what we do with them at our school. This is a difficult thing for the Kindergarten team to give a lot of input on because we don't test our students the way that other grades do. Generally, at the kindergarten level, we are preparing the students for future learning & so they will be successful on test in upper grades. We do test them at the end of the year to help with first grade placement. However they are so young that we don't really use the information for the tests too much, we usually use the informal tests that we do with our students.
